Our tutors and directors are professionals selected for their expertise and enthusiasm for teaching. All of our tutors have years of experience teaching or tutoring and undergo extensive training by Heather Forgione in the company’s test preparation curriculum and methods.

Heather Forgione, Executive Director and Owner, $90/hr
Since 2000, Heather has worked with hundreds of students, helping them feel prepared and confident with standardized tests, college application essays, and other academic subjects. Heather takes the SAT and ACT frequently and scored a 2390 out of 2400 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT. Heather tutors exclusively in the Raleigh office.
In 1999, Heather graduated summa cum laude from Union College in Schenectady, NY with a BA in English and a minor in Biology. As a pre-med student and biology major for three years, she studied math and science extensively, including courses in calculus, biology, organic chemistry, and physics. Eventually, her passion for English led her to focus her studies on literature and writing. Heather completed an honors creative writing thesis and was selected to tutor in the college’s Writing Center. She graduated as Valedictorian of the Humanities Department and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. After college, Heather was drawn to teaching and mentoring students and became the director of Score At The Top Learning Center in Boca Raton, FL in 2000. There she managed the growing center, taught SAT and ACT lessons and group workshops, trained tutors, and contributed to the center’s SAT and ACT strategy workbooks. Heather’s extensive training was guided by the center’s owner, a major contributor to the College Board’s SAT prep software and test preparation books. Heather assisted with the college counseling at the learning center and at a local private high school.
With years of experience behind her, she founded Forgione Tutoring in 2007 in Florida. The same year, she taught a year-long test prep course at a private school in Florida that covered math, reading, and writing test-taking strategies. In 2010, she moved her family and the business to Raleigh and in 2013 hired her first staff members. The Cary center was opened in 2015 and expanded in 2017. The North Raleigh (Strickland Rd) center was opened in 2018. In life outside of work, Heather dedicates her time to her husband, son, and daughter. She is excited to be a part of the community of Raleigh and looks forward to working with your son or daughter.
Wesley Jordan, Program Director, Cary
Wesley directs and tutors full-time in our Cary center. In addition to the six years of tutoring experience he accrued during and after college, Wesley began cultivating a variety of career skills, including managing several retail businesses and helping to establish an award-winning music production company. He took his tutoring experience to the next level in Chicago, where he went full-time delivering test prep for students. He not only tutored one-on-one with a variety of different learning levels, he also taught classes of anywhere from ten to fifty students in all subjects of the SAT and ACT. He worked with the faculty of various schools, giving teachers tips on how to incorporate effective strategies for mastering the ACT in their own classes. After moving back to NC, Wesley continued to tutor and started developing his own test prep curriculum in the Charlotte area – extending his years of tutoring experience over a decade. Wesley graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in Business Administration. During his time in college, he not only studied music history, vocal pedagogy, and music theory – he also tutored students in physics, mathematics, and SAT prep. Outside of his scholastic endeavors, he performed in several operas, choral ensembles, and acappella groups.
Wesley’s history of scholastic instruction, accrual of business acumen, and experience in artistic performance presents a unique – and powerful – combination of personality and knowledge. He takes pride in sharing that knowledge with others – leveraging his personality to meet students where they are and push them past their limits. He spends his free time cultivating his many eclectic passions – playing tennis, writing and recording music, studying the latest scientific theories, and cooking a mean Mexican dinner.
Gina H., Staff
Gina was born in Raleigh and raised in the Triangle. After graduating as valedictorian from her high school, she entered the Mechanical Engineering program at NCSU, where she is entering her final year. She has always had a passion for learning and helping others on their educational journey. She started tutoring her peers in a variety of subjects in high school and continued tutoring into college, most recentely working for College Nannies and Tutors of Cary. She has experience tutoring students from the 6th grade through the college level. Gina tutors all test prep subjects and can assist with many levels of high school math and physics. She tutors mainly in our Cary office.
Maureen C., Specialist
Maureen has over 16 years’ experience teaching and tutoring English, reading and writing. In recent years, her repertoire has grown to include test prep Math, Algebra 1, and ACT Science. Her teaching career began in New York City, where, as a certified teacher, she taught high school English. Prior to moving to Raleigh, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and tutored the reading, English, and essay portions of the SAT, ACT, and ISEE/SSAT for a national test prep company. She currently teaches ESL classes through Wake Tech’s Adult Education program. She is pleased to continue preparing students for the SAT and ACT and assistance with college application essay writing. A talented writer, Maureen contributes to the company’s curriculum by helping to create and write some of our strategy guides. Originally from New Jersey, Maureen received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. She worked for some time in the publishing field, and received a M.A. in Creative Writing from California State University (Northridge). Later she received her teaching certificate as part of the New York City Teaching Fellow’s program. In her free time, Maureen loves hiking, doing pottery, and (of course!) reading and writing. Maureen tutors in our Raleigh office.
Michelle B., Staff
Michelle is a junior at UNC-Chapel Hill pursuing degrees in Mathematics and Music Theory. Throughout high school, she tutored her peers in various levels of math, which lead to her first official tutoring job. As a freshman at UNC, she tutored math at Culbreth Middle School in Carrboro, where she worked both in classrooms and with individual students with ADHD and/or ASD. She worked at Sylvan Learning Center of Jacksonville for almost two years, where she tutored K-12 levels of math and reading comprehension, as well as test prep for the ACT, SAT, and ASVAB. Through her work at Sylvan, she realized that she truly loved her time tutoring and decided to pursue a career as a math teacher. Able to teach all test-prep subjects and math through Calculus III, she is excited to be able to continue to teach and hopefully spread her love of math to the students at Forgione Tutoring while also helping them to achieve their SAT, ACT, and college goals. Michelle tutors in our Cary office.
Morgan S., Assistant Director
Morgan, our Assistant Director, assists with development of our curriculum and syllabi in addition to tutoring full-time. Raised in Raleigh, she graduated from Duke University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies and minor in Education. She has many years of tutoring experience, first at Mathnasium, where she tutored students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in math, SAT math, AP Statistics, Algebra II, and Geometry. While at Duke, she enjoyed tutoring in Durham Public Schools, researching in the Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library, and walking her dog through Duke Gardens. During high school, she attended Forgione Tutoring’s test prep lessons with Heather and was excited to achieve her SAT score goals. We are delighted to have one of our past students on staff. Passionate about educational equity and personal growth, Morgan believes the key to empowering students to enjoy learning and reach personal success is to honor students’ unique strengths and learning styles. Morgan tutors multiple locations. She tutors all SAT and ACT subjects, as well as a variety of school subjects.
Russell M., Lead Staff
Russell graduated with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018 with a B.S. in Mathematics, a second major in Philosophy, and a minor in Physics. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 2017, and his work in philosophical writing, reading, and analysis led the Philosophy Department to present him with the Worth Award for excellence in philosophy, the oldest academic award at UNC-Chapel Hill, in 2018. Russell has been tutoring since 2011, helping students deepen their understanding of Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, History, and Latin. His approach to academic tutoring aims to give students the tools they need to ultimately solve problems themselves, while still offering strategies and insights that classroom teachers often neglect or gloss over. In mathematics and physics, Russell wants students to walk away from a concept believing it to be something they could have discovered on their own. He has also been teaching guitar lessons since 2015, and playing guitar since 2005. Russell welcomes the challenge of education in a musical context, meeting students where they are and balancing their individual needs for development of craft, technique, theoretical knowledge, aesthetic appreciation, and the confidence required to perform their best work. In his free time, Russell enjoys reading and writing, and spending time outdoors. Russell tutors in our Cary office.
Seema N., Lead Staff
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Seema is a PhD student in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at UNC/NCSU. She graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015 and later worked as a teaching assistant at NCSU, giving lectures and conducting tutoring sessions with students. She became interested in teaching through becoming involved in various educational outreach organizations throughout high school and college. Her engineering degree has given her a strong background in math and science, and her work as a TA and as a member of these educational outreach programs has given her experience working with students of all age ranges, both individually and in groups. She tutors all test subjects, as well as Biology, Chemistry, and select levels of math in our Merton Dr.,Raleigh office.
Stephen S., Specialist
Stephen has 16 years of teaching experience, from college instruction to private tutoring and academic coaching. Stephen graduated from ECU with a BA in English (concentration in Writing) and from UNC Charlotte with a MA in English (concentration in Literature), and much of his focus in education has revolved around reading, writing, and English language arts, including SAT and ACT prep. For the past 12 years, he has worked primarily with students who have diagnosed learning disabilities, both in clinical settings and as an independent specialist. He homeschooled students across the curriculum in the Charlotte area while also tutoring part-time at Charlotte Christian School and previously at the Writing Resource Centers at both UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College. Stephen is also Lindamood-Bell certified and has worked with other proven programs (Wilson, Orthon-Gillingham) that help individuals who learn differently improve as readers and writers and become more confident and successful students. Stephen currently teaches English courses at ECPI University in Raleigh and is regularly contracted as a copywriter and editor for companies and professionals. When Stephen isn’t playing golf or tennis or cheering for the Carolina Panthers and NY Yankees, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, and traveling (especially to the beach!). Stephen works in our Cary location.
Supriya S., Lead Staff
A native of Raleigh and graduate of Enloe High School, Supriya graduated from North Carolina State University in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical and Health Sciences Engineering and a minor in biological sciences. Through her undergraduate coursework, Supriya developed a strong background in math, science, and engineering topics. She was a writing and English tutor for NCSU for three years, helping students with a variety of assignments for all course levels. She has also tutored SAT, ACT, and high school math and science both in person and online over the past few years. Although a majority of her tutoring experience was acquired during her undergrad, Supriya has always loved working with students and peers and was a tutor and teaching assistant in high school as well. She is currently working as a Process Development Associate in the New Product Development department at Humacyte, a company in RTP specializing in regenerative medical technology. In her free time, she loves to read, draw, and scrapbook! Supriya tutors all SAT and ACT subjects in our North Raleigh office (Strickland Rd).
Tiffani P, Lead Staff
Tiffani graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, with concentrations in Child Studies and Forensics, and a minor in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University. In the summer of 2017, she was accepted to attend an Analyst Boot Camp, where she worked on analytical writing and critical thinking skills daily. Tiffani started tutoring during high school, working with her peers on ACT preparation. During college, she held numerous tutoring positions with her university. She tutored students needing to meet benchmarks on standardized tests for several years. Additionally, she has worked with students in a variety of general education courses such as English, math, and writing. Tiffani also started a chapter of Golden Key while at her university, where she worked on improving the literacy rates of children in her community. She recently moved to the Raleigh area with her husband, and tutors mainly in our North Raleigh and Raleigh offices.
Cherie Warren, Administrative Assistant
Cherie handles bookkeeping and other administrative tasks. Originally from New Jersey, she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management and a Global Business Concentration. Her professional work experience ranged from careers in Marketing, Human Resources, and Office and Financial Administration. Through these variety of experiences in accounting, payroll and general office duties, Cherie has gained the skills necessary to keep track of the books for small businesses. Cherie regularly substitute teaches at local schools, which also provides her the opportunity to be more directly involved in the educational life of her three children.
About Our Tutors
Our tutors have a wide range of skills and experiences. Our tutors have:
- Taught or tutored for anywhere from 5 – 16 years
- Passed a background screening and reference check
- Scored over a 700 out of an 800 on an SAT screening test in their areas of specialty
- Undergone an initial 10 – 20 hours of training on our curriculum
- Demonstrated that they are dynamic and motivating educators dedicated to helping students succeed
The skills and techniques I teach have a far-reaching and long-lasting impact on a student’s general knowledge and confidence. Incorporated into my lessons are reading, writing, and math fundamentals that provide review and enrichment. Taken into consideration are each child’s unique strengths and abilities, which are used as a foundation for further learning. It is my goal to create a fun and dynamic learning experience that can motivate any child and enhance his or her love of learning. I believe that through the combination of positive thinking and consistent practice, a student can achieve his or her goals.
